Brazilian tour operators have decided to sell Scotland in their home country following their attendance at VisitScotland Expo, Scotland’s only business to business event for the travel trade. The new trips include a Harley Davidson motorbike tour of Scotland.
For the first time three Brazilian travel agents were amongst 1000 others from around the world at Expo, a national showcase of Scottish tourism with over 250 exhibitors, held this year in Aberdeen’s Exhibition & Conference Centre in April.
As a result RCA Tourismo, a Brazilian tour operator has decided to include two new Scottish package holidays, one of which will be undertaken on Harley Davidsons. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Skye will be featured in some of the new tours.
Impressed by the wealth of the tourism product in the city, Marcelo Barone, owner of RCA Tourismo, said: "For Brazilians, Scotland is synonymous with whisky and history, but what I had the opportunity to see was a country with beautiful, breath-taking landscapes, and warm and friendly people."
"Although geographically far apart, there is a great deal of potential for building a strong tourism relationship between Scotland and Brazil – the two countries have a great deal in common, from lively people to great food."
As well as the Harley Davidson tour, VisitScotland Expo stimulated interest in running bespoke Glasgow/Edinburgh holidays. RCA Turismo will also be offering ‘twin city’ holiday packages to the two cities to visitors from Brazil.
VisitScotland Expo 2009 will take place in Glasgow next April at the SECC.
